I must cast my vote. It is my responsibility to vote, but I dont know the candidates!

Yes, today is the panchayath elections. I must vote, as a responsible citizen, but I do not know anything about the candidates. The LDF candidate called me over the phone and requested for vote. When I asked her about her vision for our land she said 'avakashangal nedi edukkum'. I dont know anything about other candidates. By seeing the plight of our roads, I feel sorry for the citizens. It is as if, those in power spitting on the face of the common man, after collecting taxes from him. It is as bad as continuously saying, I dont care...on the face of pavam janam. Is it not the fundamental right of the citizens to have good roads.

During the last 1 week, periyar river was red in colour because some factory (may be known to the authorities and politicians), contaminated the river with poisonous waste. This is not a new phenomena. As a ritual, immediately the pollution control board will take a sample and send it for testing. There it ends. Where are our leaders. May be, they are also part of the nexus.

If I have to caste my vote to someone, he/she should be better than me in some aspects atleast........Pavam varapuzhakkaran pokunnu veendum, thendikalude adimayakan. :-(. I have to cast my vote, I must caste my vote. I am a patriotic Indian.

While coming back home from the nedumbassery airport, there was a jatha (procession) going on, led by the candidate. The taxi driver could identify him, and said he is 'kulimuri babau'. One of the candidates weaknesses is peeping into bathrooms, hence the name 'kulimuri babu'. These kulimuri babu's will lead us tomorrow, and to match their convenience even the time of the funerals will be changed, as it happened in the case of  poet Ayyappan.
