ആമുഖം
തുടക്കം
ഞാന് വരാപുഴ.കോം തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള്, അതിന്റെ പിന്നില് മഹത്തായ ഉദ്ദേശം ഒന്നും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. എല്ലായ്പോഴും മറന്നു പോകുന്ന ഫോണ് നമ്പരുകളും, കുര്ബാന സമയങ്ങളും കുറിച്ചിടാന് ഒരിടം. അങ്ങിനെയാണ് തുടക്കം. പിന്നീട് ജോലി തിരക്കുകളില് നിന്നും ഒളിച്ചോടാന് ഒരു ഉപാധി ആയി ഈ ബ്ലോഗ്. പക്ഷെ അതെല്ലാം എന്റെ ചിന്തകള് മാത്രം ആയിരുന്നു. പിന്നെ വരപുഴക്കാര് പലരും എന്നെ കണ്ടപ്പോള് ഈ ബ്ലോഗ് എങ്ങിനെ അവരെ സഹായിച്ചു എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു. അത് എനിക്ക് വലിയ പ്രോത്സാഹനത്തിനു ഇടയായി. അത് ഈ ബ്ലോഗിനെ ഇവിടം വരെ എത്തിച്ചു. ഞാന് ഇപ്പോഴും ഇതിന്റെ പുരോഗതിയില് സംതൃപ്തനല്ല, കാരണം ഇതിലും കൂടുതല് കാര്യങ്ങള് ഇതുവച്ച് ചെയ്യാമായിരുന്നു എന്നത് തന്നെ. ഞാന് അതിന്റെ പാതയില് ആണ്. ഇപ്പോള് ഒരു ശരിയായ സമൂഹ സേവന ഉപാധി ആയി ഇതിനെ ഉയര്ത്താനാണ് എന്റെ ശ്രമം.
ഭാവി
വ്യക്തികള് തമ്മിലുള്ള ക്രിയാത്മകം ആയ വാര്ത്താ വിനിമയം ആണ് എല്ലാ നല്ല സമൂഹത്തിന്റെയും കാതല്. കുറച്ചു നാളുകള്ക്ക് മുന്പ് വരെ നമുക്ക് വായനശാലകളും, ചായക്കടകളും വാര്ത്താ വിനിമയത്തിനായി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഇപ്പോള് ഒരു ദിശയില് മാത്രം ഉള്ള വാര്ത്ത പ്രസരണം മാത്രമാണ് നമുക്ക് ഉള്ളത്. തുറന്ന വാതില് സംസ്കാരം അടഞ്ഞ വാതില് സംസ്കാരത്തിന് വഴി മാറി കൊടുത്തു. കൂടു കുടുംബങ്ങള് നുക്ലീര് കുടുംബങ്ങള്ക് വഴി മാറി. ഈ മാറ്റങ്ങള് നമ്മുടെ ആശയ വിനിമയ മാധ്യമങ്ങളിലും പ്രതിഫലിക്കെണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ബ്ലോഗും, ട്വിട്ടെരും, ഫേസ് ബുക്കും, യു ടുബും എല്ലാം അതിനുള്ള കോപ്പുകള് നമുക്ക് തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. പക്ഷെ അവ ഉള്ളവന്റെ മാത്രം കുത്തക ആവുന്നതിനു മുന്പ്, അവയെ ജനകീയ വല്കരിക്കുകയാണ് എന്റെ സ്വപ്നം. ആ സ്വപ്നത്തില് പങ്കാളി ആവുന്നതിനു ഞാന് തങ്ങളെയും സ്വാഗതം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

The beginning
When I started varapuzha.com, there was no profound motive behind it. Then people started appreciating me for collating vital things about varapuzha as a blog. When this happened, the urge in me to contribute more to varapuzha surged, which resulted in the current level of varapuzha.com. I am not quite satisfied with the current status. Much more could have been done and it should be done. I am in that pursuit.
The future
Positive communication based on action is the key to build any successful community. Till some years back, we had amble opportunities to socialize by way of cultural programs, festivals, libraries, tea shops etc. But now, the situation has changed. Open door culture is replaced by closed door culture. Joint families are replaced by nuclear families. Libraries are replaced by internet cafes. These changes calls for a different medium for social networking of Varapuzha citizens. Digital medium could be one of it. My dream is a blog, by the people and for the people of Varapuzha, supporting the cause of a vibrant future Varapuzha, which is in alignment to APJ Abdul Kalam's vision 2020.
